Editing

Editing your book is the most important step a writer should take in their publishing journey.
There are lots of editing processes to choose from - developmental editing, line editing, and copyediting being the most common.
Readers are easily put off by unedited books, so if you want to make sure that you're giving your book the best chance it has, you should hire an editor!

Make sure you choose an editor you feel you'll trust, an editor who will be suitable for you and your story.

Steps To Follow to book me as an editor

Contact me

Drop me a note! Either on my social media accounts (links at the bottom of the page, on the right), or directly on my email address. Please send the book length (word count), the genre, and the editing type you're looking for. Let me know in case you have a hard deadline for the edit.

Book a slot

Based on your request and my current workload, I will send back a timeframe and a quote for you to approve. If everything is all right, you're in! I will send you an invoice for 50% of the quote before we start*. You can send me your manuscript in MS Word or Google Docs.

Get feedback

When I'm done editing your book, I will send back the following documents: your manuscript with inline comments and text edits added, and a comprehensive edititing report including notes about the plot, characters, dialogue, etc. (only for DE) You will also receive the second invoice for the remaining 50%.

*Payment plans are available. Please contact me at my email address arianne.nicks@gmail.com to discuss this further.
